Nancy O'Dell's radio career started as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective responses of police officers in response to DUI incidents in Charleston resulted in an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell her Best Report of the year Award to all South Carolina media. After her time living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative reporter. She then joined Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. Additionally, she is a co-anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. In addition to co-hosting Pre-ShowArrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
